coursework post 9

 the setting of my short film is the year will be 2021. i have set it in this time as my short film evolves modern school classes and also modern props and setting. the time of year will be in January so it will be winter and cold. I have chosen these settings because of the miss en scene they produce. these settings all have very natural setting which is what I want because if the miss en scene is not natural then it will take away from the story line and may stop the audience being able to relate to the characters. the genre of my short film is drama and a key convention of this genre is natural and realistic. this led me to pick my settings because they contribute to the natural miss en scene.

setting 1: my first setting is a living room. i have picked this setting because it is very relatable for the audience as most people have a living room. this setting is also very natural and realistic.

setting 2: my second setting is a country lane. I am using a country lane for the setting of the main character because I do not want to use a main road as the cars will create large amounts of sound which will take away from the scene and also may even drown out the dialogue. also a plain country road is not very distracting for the spectator therefore the spectators focus will stay on the protagonists thoughts and emotions.

setting 3: my third setting is a classroom. this will be the setting for when Joe receives his test with his bad mark on. I chose this setting because it is naturalistic classroom and this is the classroom I am going to use. also I took this picture myself.

setting 4: my fourth setting is a hallway. I have chosen this setting because nearly every school has a hallway and this will help my audience relate with the characters and also the hallway is a realistic and natural setting.

setting 5: my last setting is a park which is going to be used for when the main character Joe goes to have a break and play football with his friends. this is a naturalistic setting and also helps the audience to relate to the characters because going to the park and playing football is a very common activity.
